I finally got my GP in Canada to request an appointment with a colorectal surgeon for possibly botox, but he warned me that the average waiting time to get this kind of procedure is typically 6-8 months and is not covered under health insurance.

That is a very long time to wait since I've already had this problem for a year, with no improvement. How long do americans on average have to wait to get botox done? I'm considering just crossing the border and doing it there if I have to pay either way.

That sucks. If you have to pay, do it in the US. Have you already tried the creams? Nitro/Nifedipine/Diltiazem? If so, then you shouldn't wait at all, since botox is the next step. I'd imagine that you can just go to a consult, let the CRS have a look and then get the procedure scheduled. Definitely worth a shot in my opinion. six to eight months just for botox is bullshit.

I have nifedipine but I don't notice any difference when I apply it. I just got a prescription for nitro so I could try that.

I only would have had to wait 3 weeks or so till my doc had an open times slot. 6-8 months is ridiculous.
