Glad to hear things are on track Soey. Hope things just get better from here. Yes, the choice of length of the cut is always a balance between maintaining continence and healing the fissure. A choice only a skilled surgeon can make I suppose...

Keep us posted.

Just had my first BM, and the pain from the incision site is BAD. However the pain inside my anus is gone.. For now. I truly believe this was the right choice for me.

so you fissure is inside the anus?

soey wrote:Now my CRS tells me she has to renovering my Hemmie BEFORE doing the surgery. Anyone know why? I'm so confused. She might be able to put a band on it and do the LIS at the same time. Who am I kidding, she probobly won't do anything..

I have removed hemmies before and it heals pretty fast. Mayby that is why the CRS want to do that first.

Thank you guys <3
I'm now on day 3 after surgery and feeling good for now. very little pain from the incision site. Of course i feel that something has been 'done' down there, but nothing is worse than before the surgery. I still have not been suffering from any incontinence what so ever. I can even hold gas in if I have to. Only problem I have now is keeping my stools perfect. After the surgery, my first BM was pretty painful but that might be bacause the painkillers made my stool hard and dry.

I had a talk with two of the surgeons there, and they are supposed to be 'the best in the country', (I highly doubt that tho). incontinence is EXTREMELY rare if the surgery is done properly. My surgeon is over 50 years old and do this type of procedures for a living, and she hasnt had any patients coming back because of incontinence.
