Appointment on the 31st...

Postby Mae » 18 Mar 2015, 09:58

Okay so I finally made an appointment with a CRS and I'm really nervous because 1) I'm shy and 2) I get white coat syndrome and 3) I don't know this doctor at all. The appointment is 2 weeks away and if this episode with bleeding is anything like the one in December it'll get better within a few weeks and I'll be tempted to cancel like I did last time. You guys need to not let me do that! I need to get a diagnosis once and for all.

Just do it. It is much better to know what you are dealing with. Yes, the exam is not pleasant but it's really not that bad either. And you are talking to someone who had 2 botox shots in the a$$ in the office while awake. Just breath, relax and take a valium before if you can :) And be sure that you talk to the doctor ahead of time and feel comfortable. (i mean as comfortable as one can be when someone is poking around down there) Be sure to tell the pain you are in and to be gently, but I'm sure the doctor will be. You can do it!

How much does a rectal exam hurt? My bm's don't hurt as much as they used to but they still bleed considerably, so it could be that my fissure is healing and it's just internal hems bleeding, idk. The mystery really is killing me, so maybe I can get over my fears with my need for knowledge.

If your CRS is gentle, it shouldn't hurt much. First they use a finger (or mine does anyway) and then a small anescope to see in the area. Just breath and try to meditate through it. It's truly not that bad. And I think getting some answers is worth the discomfort. You can do it :)

Just as before, the bleeding and pain went away in about a week so I'm tempted to cancel the appointment again. But I won't. Cuz the bump is still there and even if it's just the remnant of something that healed, I'd still like to find out for sure.
