Oh Dr I'm so sorry. huge hugs! this is just awful, I don't get how something so small can be so debilitating! all the best with your review, I have a review with my CRS on june 5th and not sure what he's gonna say. I'm 5 weeks post botox and banding today and I feel no better!! my sentinel pile is more sensitive than ever and i don't think the ulcers from the banding are healing! sigh.
Suffering since June 2013

Methods tried:
GTN cream - migraines!
Manuka Honey / Coconut oil / Aloe
tag excision X 2, botox x 3
Dilatiazem
dilatation 2 X daily + Retin-C Vitamin Scar Treatment Oil 2 X daily - best thing ever.
Now pain free 2/7/21

Hi fissure frustration, thank u for ur good wishes. I'm sorry you're still suffering too :( you are so right, its almost unimaginable how such a tiny part of my body has impacted my overall mood and functioning... I'm feeling a little hopeful about kenalog, so we'll see how that appt goes. Best of luck at your appt!

Sorry to hear that. LIS has helped many people, but I think it is a great idea to get a second opinion from Dr. Feingold. Also, Botox takes a long time to work so I would not rule out it effectiveness just yet. As for another fissure, is it possible that it was already there before botox and just missed? Good luck

Hi LorraineJ! Thanks for the hello :) things have been kind if interesting... I do still bleed a bit post BMs and experience pain, but its significantly less than pre botox so hopefully that's a good sign.. I'm going to see Dr F today, and we'll see what he says...

Hang in there. Definitely a good sign. It can take quite some time to heal.

It took a good 5 months till I declared myself healed. At the 4 month mark I went back to the doctor and she said there was still a fissure. My symptoms were considerably less but she still saw it. I never went back after that, as a month later I had virtually no symptoms so I figured why bother.

Was that after botox or another procedure? My CRS (not Dr Feingold) was pretty confident when she said that she expects healing within 1-3 weeks... Although based on what I had read here that seemed to not always be the case...

That was after only Botox. My Doc was overly optimistic about healing time in beginning. From everything and everyone I have heard of, it takes quite some time. Monitoring your progress over weeks not days is important. I remember one night after being symptom free for a few days I woke with an enormous pain in one of my cheeks. It was very much different then the normal pains I was getting. I thought oh no here we go, but that episode wasn't followed by a deterioration. I'm not so sure doctors really can say how long it will take.
