I am considering to do the following myself, in order to heal a fistula in a minimally invasive way.
Injecting Medical Sterilised Honey in a Anal Fistula.
It is described in the study (case report) : Alternative treatment of gluteofemoral fistulas using honey (can be found on the internet)
The reson why i want to try this is, that there are many surgical procedures , but many of them leave you with a large open wound (how medieval !) which sometimes closes very slowly and the recurrence rate is very high.
So this is how it works
1) disinfect with a Betadine solution
2) inject Physiological saline solution 0.9 percent for initial cleaning of the fistula
3) mix 50 % Physiological saline solution 0.9 percent and 50 % medical grade manuka honey ( i use :Advancis Activon Tube , i am in Europe/The Netherlands), and inject the mixture into the fistula.
4) Also after the injections i will close the little opening with a calmoseptine barriere creme. (not decribed in the study)
I read often that people use al kinds of selfmade Natural Oinment with honey, garlic, oregano oil, coconut oil, turmeric, ginger etc on the outside of the fistula (near the opening) But because we are dealing with a pipe ulcer here, which goes deep, the healing ingredients do not come into contact with the inflamed tissue.
I am gonna start with this next week . The biggist challenge is the injection because the opening is very small. I will use jaw syringe and if that is still to big a syringe with a blunt needle.
If i am not succesful with this a will also try it in combination with a 3 day waterfast (in order to stop temporarily the flow of bacteria) I tried a water fast a month ago with no success, thinking I was dealing with just a peri-anal abscess.
Has anyone on this forum tried this alternitive honey treatment ? Also i would like to hear from people who cured their fistula succesfully, without a surgical procedure.
The reason why there are so many different surgical fistula treatments out there (fistulotomy, laser, plugs, permacol paste etc), is that none of them have a high succesrate, and that often the remedy is worse than the disease.
