I've had two LIS with fissurectomy surgeries, one in April and one in October for chronic fissures that have lasted for 2 years. Both times it healed and was great until about 5 weeks post op. No constipation or anythibg, just re tearing in the same spot, anterior. So now I also have two skin tags that aren't a big problem but get irritated and are in the way. I just saw the surgeon today and they are sending me to a proctologist in a larger city that's close by. This is really frustrating. I guess I'm in the small percentage that doesn't have successful lis. Before surgery I tried diet change, diltiazem, etc but the fissures always come back. I had a large fissure but this time he said he saw multiple fissures. Are small ones harder to treat? Im hoping this specialist has something to offer me. I feel like everything has been tried and failed. I'm so tired if dealing with this. The surgeon said they don't want to keep doing surgeries on me for risk of incontinence. I haven't had a problem so far. I don't want to though.is there a chance that they will do another LIS minus the fissurectomy? Skin flap? Or a pressure test before anything? Has anyone else dealt with sonething similar? Thanks for listening.
