welts on inside butt cheeks - PLEASE respond!!!

Postby Bingoklee » 28 Dec 2018, 21:21

Hello all,
this may be hard to explain, but will try. I had surgery 1 day ago, I am in a lot of pain, but I expected it. Anyway when I use the ointment the doctor prescribed, I notice painful welt like areas on the inside butt cheeks right outside the anal opening. They were not there pre-op. Is this normal?

Bruising is common with LIS, my butt was certainly swollen after LIS, it seems a little too soon for an infection. If it does not get better, call your doctor, I am sure they will be able to tell you something this close after surgery to ease your mind.

Thank you Thorgrim. Actually doing quite a bit better. The welts are still there but only really hurt right after a bm, along with severe butt burn! Lido cream compound calms it down within ten minutes or so. I know this is a process, but damn its a pain in the ass!

Could you define "welt"? Do you mean skin tags, or swelling instead? Something like lumps of excess flesh around your hole?

It feels like what it would look like if one was hit with a thin belt or a switch. Cant see it so Im not sure, but that's how it feels

I asked, because I've never heard of welts after anal surgery. Your definition and mine are the same. Did you have LIS, or something else?

It's possible the marks are from the device they use to look inside the bum during surgery, I think it's called a retractor. Definitely ask your doctor about it if you haven't already.
