What do spasms feel like?!

Postby SueMac » 12 Jan 2019, 13:57

Just a quick question. There are lots of mentions of spasms after Bm and so on. Can someone tell me how you would describe this feeling of pain?. Eg I get post bm soreness on one side like a raw feeling. Sometime burning. Sometimes aching. Sometimes a golf ball high in the rectum feeling. Is that actually a spasm this ball up the bum?!! Any description of what a spasm is would be really helpful as I am waiting on specialist appointment but it's not until February.

:thankyou:

I think all those feelings can be described as spasms. It's not necessary that you'll feel a pulsing in the area. When the muscles tighten up it can cause a raw, burning feeling. I haven't had the 'golf ball' feeling but many here describe that sensation which is most likely related to muscle tension.

That for the reply! I agree the golf ball feeling makes sense to be tight muscles as if there was a mass inside it would feel like this all the time. I only get it odd days.

I'm glad you said other sensations could be spasms as it makes me feel that what I'm feeling is similar to others and therefore I feel less alone in this and at least it is a recognisable thing!!

I never had "spasms", but instead felt like I had something the size of a golf ball sitting inside the anus, and that ball was ON FIRE! for hours and hours after every BM.

On chachacha that's awful! But I think I may have had simie. I seem to get the golf ball higher up or the soreness and burning nearer the anus end!!
Are you better has it gone away and if so how did you verified I'd be really interested to know you're story?!!!

Yes, I'm good now. I had a LIS four years ago and have been good since then. I hope that your situation improves soon.
