What to do......

Postby ren0318 » 31 May 2011, 09:50

I've not had any pain in 3 weeks, NONE> Had the colonoscopy a week ago this past Thursday, had 8 polyps, 3 were pre-cancerous, thank goodness my CRS insisted on a colonoscopy before my LIS......HOWEVER, the fissure, 100% gone, went to see the CRS lastWednesday for a follow up from the scopy and it was gone........
Until Saturday morning, I went BM, I've been in pain since>>>>.How and why does this keep happening to me....If it was gone, I don't understand what's happening. The CRS said, "Well since your healed I don't see any reason for the surgery" I said, " me too I agree" that was stinkin' 3 days ago, YURGGGGGGG
So i called the dr this morning, told me to continue using the canasa, and come back to see her on Friday. SO what if it heals again, can the surgery still be done? It has repeatedly healed and come a
lots of times over the last year and a half.....Just so over it.....

Hey Ren0 - I'm so glad your colonoscopy caught those polyps! That's great news. I'm so sorry that the fissure keeps coming back. Unfortunately, that's a very common story here. They must hear the word "surgery" and then hide out. I'm pretty sure I developed my fissure this time last year and it kept healing and re-tearing. Last Feb it tore big time and there was no ignoring it anymore. I'm sorry to say that fissures can do that. I think you might want to talk to your doctor about the constant re-tearing because that probably means it counts as chronic and so the surgery may end up being the best option after all.
Have you been using nitro or ditliazem, or is it just the canasa?

Yes I tried the nitro. It was not 'loose" enough to really get it where it needed to be. Now the canasa, cleared it up last time, but I can't seem to get my bowels to move...I really think it's one of my meds. Also the tag is SO painful, I'm thinking of at least having that removed, sometimes I think it hurts more that the fissure it self.

If your sphincter is too tight, it's too tight. The fissure tissue is too weak to withstand retears. I'm pretty sure alpinestrawberry was healed a few months before surgery but got it anyway. Only you can decide, but in the meantime it could be a long time before you're able to get surgery. Some wait months just to see the CRS! Glad yours found those polyps, that's gotta be a weight off of your mind! Congrats just for getting through that! Good luck with your appointment and your decision, alpine was not sorry she went ahead with surgery, you probably wouldn't be either. For me, best decision I ever made...
