Well, no blood or significant pain for me since the 5 week mark. I made it through the holiday eating season including a cruise to the Bahamas (yes, it's a whole seperate season for me) with minimal complications. I have determined that I'm pretty much lactose intolerant and have altered my diet accordingly. Miralax has been a life saver and I continue to take a 75%-100% dose daily late in the day. I've SLOWLY started back into my exercise routine (triathlon). I plan to run my first marathon in October of this year to celebrate 1 year post op.
I still don't feel totally normal "back there" but I can report that I feel 80-85% better. I pay close attention to my diet and water intake. I'm hoping slowly building up my exercise routine will be ok (and maybe have a positive impact as I continue to heal).
Overall, I'm VERY glad I chose LIS. My AF no longer dictates my life and I plan to keep it that way. Thanks to everyone here for the support!!! Image

Glad to here it, away PITA.
Did you have much blood after the surgery? And was your surgery just an LIS, or did you have your fissure worked on, too?

I had some blood for the first few days. But the pain relief was almost immediate.
Mine was a fairly simple LIS only. I had two fissures both of which were pretty bad. My CRS said there was no way they would heal witout surgery. I'd had at least one of them for 3-5 years. Should have taken better care of myself earlier. Lesson learned.

Away, both my gp and my (2nd) crs think that I need fiber and time. The crs says that my AFs are small - 1mm - and need time to heal.
That said, the pain, throbbing, and soreness is just so hard to deal with.
