6 Weeks Post LIS

Postby AJStyles » 22 May 2017, 16:26

So...i got my second LIS 6 weeks ago. (First one was 8 months ago, didnt heal.)

Doctor checked me 12 days ago and said it looks good, still an open wound but it looks good and he is satisfied with the progress. He said its healing a bit slower for me than other people which can happen.

But i still have some pain after BM ... :( Its nowhere near the pain i had before surgery thank god. But its still pain..lasts for like 1-2 Hours. Its much better, but not pain free.

But, for the first time ever, i have itching down there. It started like 12-13 days ago. Now the last few days i have lots of itching. It doesnt last forever but i have it every day, sometimes for 10 min or something. Its not really annoying, but the doctor said itching means healing. Anyone got the same experience? I never had itching after my first surgery. Got BIG hopes that this itching means something good. Someone pls tell me something nice...

I had insane itching for awhile, and would guess that it was somewhere between the 3rd and 7th weeks post-op and lasted for a couple of weeks. Many, many people on this forum have discussed itching and most agree with your doctor, that it is a sign of healing.

The itching stopped, I continued to heal and I've been 2 1/2 years now with no pain.

Beautiful story bro. Happy for you. So when the itching went away, did the pain go away immediately too or did the pain go away like few weeks after itching stopped? and at the end, how long did it take in TOTAL to get healed? from surgery day 1 to fully healed day.

No, everything was gradual. The itching came somewhere around week 3 or 4 or 5 or 6, and at that point my pain was already minimal. I think that most pain was gone completely by the end of the itching, but since it was more than two years ago, it really is too hard to remember specifics. Probably 6 to 8 weeks in total, from surgery to healing. And I'm a mom, btw, not a brother, lol.

I am not a doctor, so if I were you, I'd ask yours.

AJ...best thing for you to do if you are not progressing as you think you should or simply feeling like something is "wrong" is to consult your doc. The fellow posters here are simply people who have had similar but NOT the same experience as yourself...everyone is different in their issue and recovery.

I'd also respectfully ask that you try and refrain from swearing on the forum...I know we can all feel panicked and it can get the better of us...

Take it easy and get yourself a consult asap.
