Hey there afugh, welcome to the boards (and sorry that you had to end up here).
I agree with the others, it sounds strange that you're not having pain during bowel movements with a fissure. AFAIK the usual hallmark of a fissure is major (make that MAJOR!!!) pain when pooping. That's how it manifested for me and most folks I've spoken with. I've heard that it can sometimes be possible to have a fissure without excruciating pain, so I suppose it's possible though.
BTW since you're in the heartland of porn :) (I used to live in West LA off Wilshire pretty close to Westwood Village so I know what ya mean), there's a highly recommended place in Beverly Hills for anorectal problems that might be worth checking out:
http://www.crhcenter.com/patients/locations/california/beverly_hills.htmlI never had to visit them when I lived in LA, but now live in Nor Cal and have been to another one of the physicians in their network (they are all separate practices but adhere to a similar philosophy) and have had a pretty good experience. I know it's a ways from the Valley to Beverly Hills, but I've personally found that (A) good colorectal doctors are few and far between, and (B) each has his own opinions about what treatment is best, so it couldn't hurt to get a second opinion.
Good luck, please let us know how it goes!
