I'd sure get that LIS asap, Cindi! Considering my own LIS, I don't think you'd have much risk of infection or complication, plus you are so young. But I don't know what other factors are involved complicating surgery for a pregnant young lady...just keep in mind LIS has the higher success rate and you want to be healed by the time you deliver if possible.
Sorry to hear about your severe pain, hope it eases up fast!

I am so sorry to hear of your pain Cinderella :(
Without a doubt the surge of hormones will have a part to play ...
I do hope things begin to settle down for you soon Image Are you suffering constipation ?
Keep us posted to what your CRS will suggests!

That is so scary to be going through this and being pregnant. Did your CRS give you any advice when you told him you wanted to have a baby soon? As far as I know, I don't think surgeons like to operate in that area during pregnancy. But maybe that is becoming more accepted. I just know when I had a prolapsed, thrombosed hemmie, they wouldn't do anything about it when I was pregnant. It was horrible. But I have heard that now a days they will do something if absolutely necessary. Hope your CRS can help you soon! Maybe taking baths again would be good to get that area to relax.
I am doing okay, Cindy, thanks for asking. I have kind of accepted that I may never been completely normal again but I am not in irretractable pain and have some good days so that gives me hope.

ok i am definitely never getting pregnant now! Image your story sounds horrible so far cindy. i know you already had LIS once so i hope a 2nd round would help you heal. i think we are all compromised for life in that area...especially if we have multiple surgeries that don't work. i hope your CRS can give you some encouraging advice. also, maybe you should see another dr since yours said it was healed???
are you doing anything now to help the area? ointments, fiber, over the counter medicine, etc???

Sorry to hear about your pain again...
I agree with the others here in that the hormones must play a part, constipation, etc. are common during pregnancies. Your body is going through big things so it will affect your butt as well.
I think that you in your situation with a pregnancy and a fissure just have to accept that you may be having problems in the butt area for a while...don't expect to be painfree. Lower your expectations and don't be disappointed if and when you are in pain. Maybe you don't like this approach, but to me it has helped a lot to be realistic in how I view things and deal with things. When my fissure was on it's wonderful worst behaviour (2x3 cm.) I only existed, and when pain was unbearable I always thought that time would help me and ease the pain.
What's most important to think about is that this will NOT kill you, pain and discomfort - YES, but you will live to see your children grow up :)
What I would do - ask for a C- section ASAP so that delivery will not cause further damage down there.
Another thing, use this forum a lot - here one can complain and get support, which is a very important factor to staying sain in these sometimes unbearable situations.
Good luck anyway Image

Corsi -
Am I reading this right? Your fissure was 2x3 cm??? Ouch!
How are you feeling anyway?
Cindy -
I will be in your same boat soon so stay in contact. We just decided we are going to start "trying" in a month. Let me know what your OB doc says about all this.

I am sorry that I have not replied earlier. I have been quite tired because of pregnancy.
I have very good news concerning my AF! I have not had any pain or any soreness for several weeks. I am taking lactulose and metamucil but still having horrible constipation, but my AF has not re-torn or caused any symptons. Regarding my AF I feel better now that I have felt for last two years. I know that I should not right this because then something will probably happen...but I really feel that pregnancy is good for my butt.
The only thing I am worried about is that I have constipation all the time, so sooner or later I will have hemorrhoids again. I am eating fruits, prunes and drinking prune juice but nothing helps. I am also windy all the time because I am using so much laxatives. It is very awful to be at work because of this gas problem. However my CRS said that I must use laxatives during the whole pregnancy.
