Has someone been diagnosed with lateral anal fissure but it wasn't cancer? The discomfort is tremendous, I have discomfort 24/7. CRS did not see it with Anoscopy or didn't feel it with DRE. Don't know what to think, this is making me so depressed!

lateral fissures don't mean you have cancer there are other explanations such as peri anal crohns other IBDs or week skin. Your CRS would and should do more tests to investigate what is going on.
Please try not to worry if they think it's cancer they wouldn't just leave you.
What is your next plan will the examine the area while your under anaesthetic or are they planning a colonoscopy

I had a colonoscopy done, everything was good. He ordered an MRI of the pelvis. It's funny he said he couldn't see it or feel it but I feel it. I'm at loss.

Ah it's strange they couldn't see it with the colonoscopy but at lest you know it's not cancer.
I would get a second opinion just for peace of mind

I am seeing another CRS on Monday. Is it normal to feel discomfort on the buttock down the leg?

I felt the pain all down both my legs when the spasms were at their worst. I think it's because the whole pelvic girdle can become involved so to speak.
I had to see 3 docs before one saw my fissure as apparently it was hiding between a hem and a sentinel pile....I had a very sneaky fissure lol

Wow I can't believe it took 3 doctors to see it! I'll see what the other doctor says on Monday. The pain it's like nerve pain so to speak !
