Atypical fissure

Postby Michelle1218 » 13 Jan 2023, 10:15

Hi all. I got diagnosed with an anal fissure about 6 months ago. Initially, it was not of great concern. However, my fissure to located in the lateral position (around 2o’clock). After extensive research it seems as though placement is crucial and lateral fissure are linked to bigger issues.
My question is- how many of you have had lateral fissures that were not linked to crohns - or worse? I do have a colonoscopy in a month to rule out other issues but I am driving myself insane with worry.

I had a lateral fissure and I don't have Crohn's or any inflammatory bowel condition. Try not to Google too much, it's not helpful and only drives anxiety.
8/16-12/16: Fissure due to antibiotics
5/17: Botox to sphincter, fissure healed
9/19: Trigger point injections and pudendal nerve block
11/19: Botox to pelvic floor
8/20: Botox to pelvic floor in new location.
On and off in pelvic physical therapy
