Benefiber is great. I usually mix it in a pitcher of iced tea so it is ready made! Very good for you, keeps things soft.
Erik.

Erik,
How much benefiber do you take daily? I am using it also. I think it does add some bulk.

I normally put 4 tabelspoons in a quart of iced tea, than I add some stevia sweetleaf sweetener which also has fiber in it and tastes good.
Here is my recipe for my "anti-inflammatory"/cleanser iced tea:
- 4 tablespoons benefiber or fiber sure
- 2-3 packets of Stevia sweetleaf
- 1 teaspoon of ginger powder
- Two fresh squeezed lemons
- A little cane sugar if you like it sweeter.
If I take benefiber on its own I take one table spoon in 8 oz but I worked up to that over a period of about a month.

I think it is about a time that we print out a "Fissure Diet" cookbook - it will fly off the shelves Image

Benefiber--best fiber ever!

Postby buttgirl » 07 Jan 2009, 12:26

I was just going to comment on benefiber being the best fiber supplement i have found. it and 500mg of magnesium are all that i still take.
How much you take ?
3 tsp 2 times a day
When do you take it?
morning and afternoon
Does it add any bulk to BMS ?
Not really. I take it in a quart of water which I carry around everywhere. I suppose there is a bit more bulk but the soluble fiber keeps everything mushy.
Can anyone advise how much I should start with ?
1 tsp 3 times a day

Those who have tried psyllium and benifibre which do you prefer and why ?

Benefiber for sure. metamucil came out in hard lumps. it did not spread out in my digestive tract and I could not take it throughout the day so easily, as i did my water bottle
