I have been taking 1 teaspoon in the am and currently 1/2 teaspoon in the pm. Since I also take 1 teaspoon of psyllium in the aft, it is hard for me to say if the benefiber causes any bulk or not. I do think it helps regulate my bowels (unless I skip a dose of Movicol!).

How much you take ?
I take 2 tsp, which equals to 3 grams of soluble fiber.
When do you take it?
I take it in the morning, usually with Gatorade.
Does it add any bulk to BMS ?
It does add some bulk, but remains soft(fluffy).
Can anyone advise how much I should start with ?
Hmm, not sure what to tell you on that, but I do take it to supplement my daily fiber amount. I was told by my GE that I should consume around 25 to 30 grams of fiber a day. On the back of the Benefiber bottle it does state that you should not take more than 6 teaspoons per day.

Well, I've tried both. I took my psyllium via Metamucil powder, and wasn't real happy with the outcome. I became really constipated when I started taking it, and that I think let to my first setback after knowing that I had a AF. (I strained and pushed during BM)
I have been real happy with benefiber and continue taking it in the a.m.

Interesting feedback, Raul. I will look forward to others replying. Maybe we should all buy stock in the company that makes Benefibre. I'll check the jar for the name of the company.

How much you take ?
1 tsp
When do you take it?
mid day anywhere between noon & 4 pm
Does it add any bulk to BMS ?
Yes, but a good kind of bulk. My BMs are so soft, but still formed, so bulkiness is no longer an issue like it has been in the past.
Can anyone advise how much I should start with ?
1 tsp

Honestly, I like them both and I switch up once in a while. I like the benefiber because you can mix it with things like coffee & yogert. With Metamucil, I have to drink a glass of it. I think the Benefiber adds less bulk than the metamucil overall, but I am still trying to figure out which I like better. I used to tak 3 tsp a day of Benefiber. But I noticed that just made me have more BMs.

Hello,
I take Fibersure made by Metamucil. It disolves in water and has no taste. I take 1 tsp in a.m. and 1 tsp in p.m. with 64 or more ounces of water per day. My stool has been soft with the Fibersure even if I eat poorly throughout the day.

i take 1 teaspoon of Benefiber in the afternoon, usually around 2-4pm. it makes my BMs formed but not too hard or bulky. i tried metamucil in the beginning months of my fissure and found that it just made things harder and gave me lots of gas. i started using benefiber a couple months ago and i like it so far.

Very helpful ! Image
The benifibre sure seems to be very convenient, as is the fibresure but i am not so sure that inulin is good for us IBS sufferers which is why I would like to try the benifibre!
I have used pslyim for IBS for years and always had very good results with it but with fissure things just feel a little too bulky Image
I am hoping this benifibre is somewhere in the middle then I would be a happy bunny Image
Thanks all Image

Hey Buddy -bud - sorry for discovering this post "late" Image
I tried B. for couple of days - definitely was different from Metamucil. Less bulky and more soft - actually too soft for me Image I had to go 5 times a day and I had to stop using it.
I used recommended dose on the box, once a day.
Good luck "Tubby- buddy" Image Hope it works wonders for you !!!!! xoxoxxxxx
