I posted recently about how I have been dealing with fissure pain for 5 years but here's the scoop:
I just had a botox procedure done at Weill Cornell by Doctor Shukla and after the surgery, he informed me that I not only had what appeared to be a small fissure from the digital exam but a VERY large fissure that almost touched the muscle of the spinchter that was lodged deep inside!
I had two separate kenalog procedures with Dr. Feingold over the past few months and never healed - PROBABLY because Dr. Feingold told me that my fissure was very small, although chronic, but nothing of significance. Dr. Shukla performed an anoscopy before the surgery and noticed this very large tearing - very, very unfortunate that i have gone all this time without really knowing the extent of the damage done.
Thus, I am HOPING AND PRAYING that i will finally heal! Make sure you get multiple opinions about your fissure before you take action. I'm learning the hard way
