Greetings fellow sufferers!! My bum pain began about 6 weeks ago...started off with piles and, am now convinced, fissure(s).

I started diltiazem yesterday. BM's seem good now, but hurt like the dickens for a few hours afterward. I'd really, really like this part to stop....

Trying to stay positive but some moments are pretty challenging.

I am terrified at the thought of seeing a dr again. Any thoughts on how long to try the dilt before going in? I slept really well last night...first time...I think because of the dilt. Here's hoping it works for me!

Give the diltiazem 4-6 weeks before considering other options, as long as you see a continuous improvement. Setbacks will happen but you should continue to improve despite them. I completely understand the fear of doctors, but if you need help then that's the only way to get it. Try and find one who you feel confidence and trust in.
