Bruising after surgery?

Postby Bhill » 23 Aug 2015, 06:20

Has anyone else had this and does anyone know what it's from. My left side next to my anus is completely bruised and sore. I mean really bad black and blue. I can't remember if the dr said anything and my husband was there for only part of the Dr's talk after the surgery (so stupid they talk to you when you are still under the influence of all the drugs they use to put you under and for pain!).
Also is some discharge normal. ..although the discharge looks to be from where they removed my hemroid. I go for my check up tomorrow so I will ask but I was just curious.

What kind of surgery did you have? For most anal surgeries, including LIS, they use a retractor (think of a shoehorn for your butthole) and this can leave a lot of swelling and bruising. I was very swollen and black and blue for several weeks afterwards. Everyone is different in how they react though.

Discharge is normal as long as it is pink/red or yellow. Green is not good and neither is anything thick or whitish.

I had LIS and hemroids removed (external). As far as I can tell it's yellow but not sure..m have a follow up tomorrow so I guess we will see. Thanks

Yes, I was black and blue after just an EUA.... It took weeks for the bruising to go down. I think it's down the the ' bum shoe horn' that is used as msimon said.

Ok, I'm 23 days post LIS. Still having pain with BM. After BM I have some stinging and soreness. Is this normal? Just expected to be painfree this far out. It gets discouraging day after day. Don't get me wrong I thank the Lord I am so much better than before LIS. Just want to get back to my life! Any advice from anyone?

Sickoffissure, you may want to start your own thread on this topic. If you go to here:

lis-considering-surgery-or-already-had-it-f6.html

And click on the gray box 'new topic' button on the top left of the page you can start your own thread.

Otherwise people will come to this thread to see updates for Bhill and you may not get the replies to your post you would like.

I had bruising on the left side after surgery. I bruise pretty easy though. My surgeon's nurse said that was normal. Overall, could not be happier, and after 10 months of pain finally getting better.
