I would like to second Happy's suggestion about leafy green veggies! While many people abhor spinach and other leafy greens, I am a huge believer in them! They not only supply a nice dose of calcium, but also are rich in vitamin A and bioflavinids and many other nutrients. So many options to choose from too, from Romaine lettuce to the aforementioned spinach, to bok choy, Swiss chard, to our staples here down South -- mustard greens, turnip greens and collard greens. Did you know that mustard greens are packed with 9 vitamins and 7 minerals, including the antioxidants: vitamins A, C and E. I had a helping today, in fact!
When cooked soft, leafy greens provide another essential need for AF sufferers, and that is fiber!
And it's surprising, but the human body actually absorbs these nutrients *better* when they leaves are cooked! People taking blood thinners have to watch out for them, though, because they do interfere with those meds.

I am not sure, Fissy, I would have to research it. But for instance, patients on coumadin are advised not to eat dark leafy greens. I would suspect it is due to the high vitamin K content in the greens.

however, you have to eat spinach in moderation.....
i am not sure if it is too alkaline or too acidic but it's one or the other and a lot of spinach every day can affect your blood health.
even cause diarrhea!
so as with everything else, everything in moderation and try different green foods each day to have variety.
look into alkaline foods and acidic foods - i think this is what i was trying to convey in the diarrhea discussions, about why our liquid coming out may be stingy.......foods can be too acidic or too alkaline......which affects how it feels coming out!
