Yes GTN really helped lower the severity of the spasms and if I had been given it quicker I believe it may have healed my fissure

Nitroglycerine and nifedipine have been helpful to me. (I am 28 M). I always first lubricate the rectal area using vaseline on a cotton swab. Then I mix the ointment with vaseline (1:2 ratio) and apply using another cotton swab. Without the vaseline, it hurts to apply the ointment.

Edit: I should add that these ointment do cause side effects. I feel drowsy, more so if I drink coffee.
