Dear Frens (EverTheOptimist, KKMark). Picture of my fistula

Postby rebornbutt » 25 Jul 2013, 07:45

I just got the biopsy report from the lab with a pic of my fistula tract being cut out from my bum. No wonder antibiotics and homeopathy cannot cure it. It looks very creepy.

Hi Richi,

Mine was rather low and it did not pass any muscles according to the colorectal surgeon. I can basically feel it underneath the skin. It was bad to have such a creepy piece of ginseng hidden inside the bum.

I could have mine for close to 15 years. Because I remember having abscesses around the same area 15 and 10 years ago. I went to work complaining about pain on the bum when the abscesses flared up twice 15 and 10 years ago. I used to remember that my abscesses cleared up by itself then. So I wondered why it did not clear up 2 years ago.

I was on long term antibiotics doxycycline for acne from 1991-2004. So maybe that cleared them up automatically and went dormant for many years. There could be a tract underneath that went dormant until 2 years ago. It flared up and never heal again.

Hi Kathy Buddy,

It really looks scary right? I cannot imagine why I got such a disgusting thing under my skin. I do not have pain during BM these days. Bleeding has also stopped. Try to keep the cleaning gentle to stop irritating it. So how issit going buddy? Hope you are well and way to recovery. BTW, have you got a bidet install in your toilet? I just got mine recently.

Hi Kathy,
Glad to hear that you are doing fine too. I think the pain will get lesser as time goes by. You can get a donut which helps in relieving pressure off the surgery spot. I've read that a cutting seton takes 2 months to clear off the fistula so you are on the right track to recovery.
Take care buddy and I am sure we will be free from this dreadful condition. It really took alot of enjoyment off our life.

Hey reborn
Yes we can get back our happy life but I just have to make sure we eat right which good for our health
Have to go back on August 8 to tighten the seton, so hopefully by then I feel much better. I tried a donut when I had my abcess drained. It was no fun, but I feel a fluffy pillow did help me :)
Instead of a bidet I have a sitz bath it's a round thing I can put on the toilet seat so I can use it easily everyday after my BM.
ETO - yes yuck and I am glad to its gone from the body.
Hope you are all ecovering good.
Take care
Kathy

Dear ETO,
I am happy to get this piece of crap out of my butt. Sorry for the graphic description. It really gave me alot of trouble and during my holidays to hong kong and malaysia for the past 6 months.
My wound seems to be getting less deep. I am wondering when it heals up the cut on the anus. Will the cut heal up nicely and evenly on the anus wall part? Thanks.
