Thank you. I have felt like this for a while Andrea, my doc doesn't want to put me on anti-depressants so am trying counselling. Got a session tomorrow so hope that helps. I am trying to be strong but some days it beats me, counting down the days now until the 13th and if they say botox then I am going to ring up the same day and book private. I have other questions to ask about gynae so thats why I am waiting until then to be checked. Thanks for the advice Val, I have been checked totally internally. When I was admitted the womens hospital checked everything out, and I have had some ultrasounds done so I don't think it's that. I had a mysterious swelling, which they didn't ever find out what it was. On my medical records its says in my op they drained an abscess but they told me they didn't find one so god knows what they did! Just getting niggly aches up the side, trying to convince myself its just thrush affecting the open wound. If it gets worse I will not be hanging around like last time, will be straight to A&E with any sign of swelling. Thank you Andy, just a very bad day. Painful again today but not as bad as yesterday. I am glad you are improving, I hope you continue to do so :)

Sue, why doesn't your Dr want you to go on anti-deps??
I was on them years ago and they helped me thru my divorce. There is no shame in taking them and they will get you through a rough time. With everything you have going on right now maybe these will take the edge off whilst you get sorted and fully recover x

I don't know Andrea, I think I'm going to get to the point of begging for something or going to a different doctors. I'm thinking of changing docs cos am fed up. Went to receptionist and asked fro a swab for my thrush, the pharmacist I spoke to couldn't believe I'd had it for 5 months and no swab done. I have stinging up the front now and don't feel like I can go back to the docs as theres nothing to see. So sore at the back aswell, theres something externally I think, feels like rough skin. As am having my swab with the nurse today I'm going to ask her to look and see if she has any suggestions. I've got to the point where I've had enough, and meant to be going back to work tomorrow. I will never cope, and don't want to break down when I'm there. Just don't know what to do anymore, feel like I've got a few things going on and as I've been to the docs loads they think I'm a hypochondriac. They don't really bother anymore. Thats why I was thinking of going to a different practice to get a totally fresh view on things and they may try some other things. Don't really want to change docs as have been at that one since I was a baby, but beginning to think it may be best.

sue, do you think that you have thrush on the anal area? the reason i ask is because i have had problems with thrush on the front side and told my doc that i thought i had it on anal area and she doesnt believe me and doesnt do anything about it. i feel that i have thrush or yeast on the backside also and have yet to get them to do a swab on the area. i am going back friday and demand that they do this. i to have had this problem for along time and getting real tired of it. i know how you feel...

Good news you have finally had a swab taken!! Wow, the GP's never fail to amaze me!! I presume you have researched thrush and causes, prevention etc...In case you haven't I looked for you and found this site as helpful. They also sell over the counter Canestan wipes that won't disturb the good bacteria etc...
http://www.canesten.co.uk/lifes-little-irritations/thrush.htm
I also read on our forum an older discussion about thrush too: I will find it next and post it.
I wouldn't bother at this point changing GP. They can't help you like the Specialists can. So don't add anymore stress. Your swab today will come back and then get the right treatment. So that's one less problem for you Sue.

You will recover, he won't. Image

Thank you both. I would get a swab Jenny, I don't know if you can get one done at the back, but I've had one done at the front now. There are different treatments for different strains, and it may not be thrush. I have also been in touch with an alternative therapy place who have suggested seeing a naturopath. Need to look into this more before I go but its an idea for you. They suggested oregano extract too, I haven't used it myself. Results of swab back Monday. Nurse was really good, she said she couldn't believe they had left me like this for this long, and asked when the last time I was examined was. It was about 2 months ago!! She said I was very inflamed and sore, so couldn't even do a smear test either as it would be too painful. As I've been using Canestan so long, she thinks it may have burnt my skin too so suggested vaseline. I am going back to the docs following results as stinging on the left is getting more intense too and getting pains down my leg. Nurse checked everything out and said it wasn't swollen like before so it may be the tissue is damaged by the cream. Absolutely fuming with the docs about this as am following what they said to do!!! Anyway, fissure is settling a bit again, not great but survivable. Spoken to work and just trying a morning tomorrow, they have said if I can't cope then thats fine and not to feel pressured. So at least I know I can just try and do whats comfortable, they have been so supportive. Makes me feel better about things. Thanks for the links Andrea, really appreciate it!! I know there is alot of people worse than me, watched Harrys Heroes the other night and the injuries soldiers have are terrible. Thank you for the support, means alot Image
