Diltiazem base

Postby Guest » 25 Sep 2007, 16:44

Hey everyone-
I just wanted to ask those of you that use or have used diltiazem or nifidepine what base the pharmacy used for it. The reason I ask is the first round I got dilatiazem in a thicker vaseline type base. Then this last time I went to a pharmacy that put it in a base that is more liquidy like the consistency of KY jelly.
This last round, my bottom seems to be reacting to it negatively-it has made the pain worse rather than better so I discontinued using it. The pharmacy that makes is in the base that I had good results with is 2 hours away so I will have to wait until I am in Atlanta to get it filled there.
So, what does your compound look like?
Thanks!

I know a pharmacist that could fill it for you you and I could have it for you in two days, if you fax them the prescription, Co-mod. You can PM me if you're interested....I could ask them first what they compound it with.

Thanks for the offer! Maybe you can check and make sure it is a petroleum base first? I would have to tranfer my prescription though. Let me think about it!
Thanks co-mod!

My pharmacy (Walgreens) did it in petroleum jelly, which I don't like because it makes me feel sticky all day. I just went to a new CRS who sent me to a very specific compounding pharmacy and it now looks like whipped butter, but white...and it feels better on my AF. I plan to call them and ask them what they mix it with. I'll let you know.

I called the compounding pharmacy I use for my Nifedipine and they told me it's compounded in a cream emoilient base.
