Doctor Question

Postby Loomis » 21 Mar 2014, 15:06

Hey guys, just had a quick question. I had not had health insurance for along time, so I have never seen a doctor for my fissure problem. I just recently signed up for it and will be insured next month and have already scheduled an appointment with a new general physician. My question is, should I just go ahead and try and find a colo rectal surgeon on my own or should I talk to my new GP about my fissure problem and see if they refer me to someone? Also, can a GP prescribe the nitroglycerin ointment or can only a colo surgeon do that?

I would suggest find a good specialist CRS. If it is a long waiting list, GP may be helpful in prescribing some medications. But the right diagnosis is crucial to get the right treatment. As it happened to me when I went to CRS he gave me different diagnosis . Good luck!
