The doctor only told me that is what he was doing without details or the effect on my body.
I really would like to hear if others had been in need of this and their recovery.

Can you phone the office and ask f they could provide more details??
Perhaps they are referring to a scope, not actually a surgery. Sometimes they will put people out or sedate them if they have severe anal pain, then insert an anuscope with a camera to get a good look at what's going on. Could that be it?

The office, doctor, will only say standard procedure.
It was under sedation for exam but the question is what is the extent of swelling, bruising, and pain caused from an exam with anesthesia? How about if a tag was removed? Is it normal for these doctors to provide narcotics for pain that they caused?

I think you need to demand the details. Has the procedure already been done? If it was just a scope you would not expect any bruising or swelling, maybe a small increase in pain depending on what your issue is. Why was the procedure suggested? What problems are you having?

I just read your other post. I think you need to see another doctor or surgeon asap and get a second opinion. Is that possible for you?

In this city there is only one doctor group to go to. I don't have a car so I'm stuck with here.

Where are you located? Perhaps there is a medical help line you could call to get some advice from a nurse.
Could you get a family member to drive you to a clinic or hospital in a nearby city? Is there another doctor in the group you could talk to?
Have you been taking the pain killer? When you say your entire GI tract is sore, do you mean you have an upset stomach?
I really urge you to see another doctor if you can - or even go back to the doctor that did your surgery with a list of questions.
Have you tried applying alternating cold and hot to reduce the swelling? Sitz baths?
No problem - I'm here to help!

HH PS I had anoscope under sedation also and this did create extreme pain bruising and swelling. It is just now tapering a bit. I read Hemmroid surgery also creates this as well.
