Hi all!
I'm a new member, however I've been following these threads for almost a year. Since the birth of my daughter when I was misdiagnosed with international hemorrhoids instead of what I actually had which was a fissure. Since I was being treated for hemorrhoids, I was given medicine to restrict blood flow, when we all know fissures need blood flow to heal.
Well, that was fun!
Anyway--fast forward to October 21 2016, after months of life altering pain from spasms, I had a fissurectomy and LIS. The doctor actually used he same "cut" per say - the area where he performed my fissurectomy to do the LIS.
I am now 3 months post op and still am not healed. I am MUCH BETTER than pre surgery- however, I was hoping to be healed by the 2 month mark, as my specialist thought I should be also.
I still have stinging after BM and bleeding nearly every time. Slight discharge though out the day, and minimal stinging. Enough to CONSTANTLY be thinking about my butt.
I do my sitz baths as often as I can with a 10 month old, I sometimes put coconut oil on where the incision is at night before bed (just started this), I try to eat to maintain a consistent bowel texture, although it's tough. I have to eat lots of things to BULK my stool as is typical loose and too soft.
Isn't it crazy how we all find it normal at a certain point to talk about poop?
Anyway, any reassurance woUps be greatly appreciated- as well as tips or tricks
