Fissure Cauterized

Postby jjpnavyx30 » 06 Jul 2017, 15:56

I got a fissure cauterized two weeks ago today. The bleeding has stopped, pain has gotten better. But now every time I have a BM, the pain comes back and is horrible- just as bad as day 1. To be honest, this pain is worse than it was prior to the cauterization.

Has anyone have this done? How long did this pain last for? Any suggestions on what I can do to obtain some type of relief? My doctor did not give me any pain meds, just said to take baths and apply the lidocaine. I have done them both and still no relief.

Again, been going on for two weeks now- I am beyond miserable and truly can't handle this pain anymore

Hello there and welcome to the forum! I hope your pain levels finally went down. I don't know how well cauterization can treat a fissure, but I hope it works in your case. Maybe getting a second opinion is in order if you're not happy with your current doctor.
8/16-12/16: Fissure due to antibiotics
5/17: Botox to sphincter, fissure healed
9/19: Trigger point injections and pudendal nerve block
11/19: Botox to pelvic floor
8/20: Botox to pelvic floor in new location.
On and off in pelvic physical therapy
