Fissure...healed?

Postby Alejoboogie » 07 Oct 2015, 12:52

So I've had this fissure for almost 2 months now and it's either a chronic fissure, or it's just because there were a few setbacks that delayed healing. Whatever the reason I actually feel like it's close to being fully healed. My stools have been super soft and small with very little pain coming out. Just a slight twinge at first but then nothing after. No blood for over a week and a half. Before that it was about 5 days no blood until a weekend of neglecting my diet that cause blood for 3 days straight.

But I'm mainly confused as to what's going on now. Like I said there's very little pain when I go to the bathroom but the past three days I've been having that dull achy pain that's associated with muscle spasms. Sometimes it's a burning like pain. Which I've had before and am pretty sure it's spasms. But that normally came on with the sharp pain of going to the bathroom. So my question is, if there's very little to no pain when going to the bathroom, why the spasms? They actually go away completely within a couple hours and sometimes they're not even that bad, such as right now. I can feel it but I'm sitting just fine typing this haha. I was wondering though if maybe the fissure has healed and now there's a skin tag? I've never had one before but I think it might be. How would I know for sure if I had one? The reason I think the fissure is healed is cuz normally when I feel pain I can kinda clench the muscles in the anal area and if it feels like a sharp pain I know it's the fissure, but when it's the dull pain it's usually the spasms (Don't quote me on this theory, I just feel like I can tell haha).

I'd really like this to be over soon because it's really affecting my workout routine that I was on. I haven't been able to workout properly in almost 2 months, only done cardio really. But even then if I go too long the muscle starts to spasm again leaving me in pain. I actually went one day last week with no pain whatsoever the entire day, I was running around a lot and jumping and doing all sorts of stuff with no pain in sight. It was actually very nice :D. But then the spasms the next day again :(.

Sorry this was so long but I just wanted to make sure I gave enough info to get some help haha

Alejo,

Sorry I can't answer your question or even help really, but I have the same thing. I feel that my fissure is healing well, no pain while going. The muscle pain appears after. Mine does not feel like a spasm, other than the fact that the pain is on the outside muscle area.
I'm of no help, I know, but wanted to answer your post and tell you that I can relate. I want it to be over too!

Hey cupcake,

i appreciate you even taking the time to reply, it does help knowing there's people who know what I'm going through :). Yea somtimes it does feel like it's on the outside area, once i even massaged it and it went away for a few minutes. So yea i think it could be a little of both. I think it's actually getting better though cuz the pain has been going away faster and faster each day. The first time was like 4 hours, then 3, then just like a little over an hour. So hopefully that's good news :D

Thanks again for the support,we'll get over this soon! :D

Also I should mention that you really should make sure your stools aren't too big. I found this was a huuuuuuuuuge reason for the muscle pain afterwards. They were nice and soft but just too big and really put me in some pain. I've come to realize that the cause of big stools has a lot to do with meat. I was eating my normal diet which consisted of chicken at least twice a day, like good sized portions, and everyday I ate it my stool was really big and bulky. But lately I've really cut back on the meat, like maybe one serving of it and not as much as I used to eat. So it's kinda like a semi vegetarian diet as I'm getting majority of my protein from like beans, grains, veggie parries, etc...And also eating a lot more fruit and vegetables. Ever since then my stool has been nice and small and very soft.

So I encourage you, if you aren't already, to cut back on the meat. I've read that those kind of proteins take the longest to digest and therefore delay going to the bathroom. Which will make your stool big and bulky. Of course everyone is different, this is even different from what I've done in the past (this isn't my first fissure rodeo haha), but sometimes your body just changes I guess and reacts differently.Hope this helps! :)

Thank you for the input! Ha... my diet. My diet is very sparse right now. No meat, no pasta, rice or bread. I do eat some crackers sometimes. Fruit and veg is the main stay. Sometimes have peanut butter for protein.
This isn't my first rodeo either, however, it is my worst. I've had it twice before and they healed inside of two months, this time not so much.
But thank you for the support and advice. Hoping we both get totally healed soon! (and never have this again!!)

I can relate for the most part. I still have pain when having bms but it is much less painful than before. Sometimes it's just a sharp sting when my uh..bowels first open (the first plop is hardest) and then no pain for the rest of the visit. When I emerge from the toilet feeling quite positive the sore feeling kicks in. It's made worse with sitting and better with exercise in my experience. The pain lasts around 4 hours for me too. I usually take Ibuprofen which definitely takes the edge of it. It's not the type of pain that leaves you wincing and sweating, it's just there..annoying. Aching and sometimes slightly buring. I can get on with my day with it but i'm always aware it's there until it wears off. It's so annoying and because things don't get better overnight it gets really emotionally draining. It's like 'so this is my life now'. I've had symptoms since late last year but they have only really started to impact my life since around June this year. Now i'm so over it it's unbelievable. Problem is it doesn't care if i'm over it. It's not done with me yet :sadd:

Hey Hayley,

Everything you just said is exactly what I'm going through. Like EXACTLY lol. You're right about the pain just kinda being there. I can definitely get through the day no problem now, but I feel like if I do too much to put any kinda stress on the muscles it'll come back. Exercise has been hit and miss lately. Like last friday I was running and jumping and doing my thing and not once felt anything. So I thought cool it's gone! So I tried to workout again and there it was again. Not like an overwhelming pain that I've had in the past but just enough to make me go "whoa yea I better stop before this gets worse". I've had fissures in the past but never like this. Usually when I feel like it's pretty much healed I can go back to normal activity. But not this time, this is actually the first time I've experienced the spasms. The previous ones were purely the stinging associated with the tear.

I've given up trying to understand exactly how these things work. I'm just gonna continue doing what's working for me now and gives me very minimal pain. I think I can see the light at the end of the tunnel though, as the lingering pain is getting shorter and shorter each day. We just gotta stick it out for now, it'll get better! :)

BTW I just realized you posted in my other topic about the bleeding. I'm happy to report the bleeding has since stopped and has been that way for almost 2 weeks now :D
