Is Diltiazam needed after Botox?

Postby WelshDoubleFissure » 08 Jul 2013, 04:33

Hi guys,
My question - should I continue using Diltiazam after I've had Botox?
I know it couldn't hurt to continue using it, but knowing what I know about the cream, it's a channel blocker that relaxes the muscles - exactly what the Botox has done and is continuing to do but on a more effective scale.
My issue is, whenever I consider using my Raw extra Virgin coconut oil, I end up using Diltiazam instead because I think it'll be more beneficial - so I haven't really been trying the coconut oil. - BUT if the Botox is relaxing my muscles already, is the Diltiazam redundant?
I was prescribed Diltiazam by the CRS before he saw me and then a few weeks later I had Botox and He didn't prescribe me any more post surgery, but I have some left.
Thoughts on this please my lovely Botox friends.

A lot of people continue to use their topical ointments to give the fissure a double whammy.... But it's up to you really. I would maybe phone your crs secretary and leave a message and see what they say?

Hi, If your botox is relaxing the area that's good. Why not give your doctor a call and see if the cream is needed. Some people get a rash or itching from the creams so if you don't need to use them reserve them for a time when they could be needed again. All the best Suzy.

I did read a study where they found combo treatments to be better than botox alone.
