Hope this isn't a dumb question. I'll try and make it quick if you don't klnow my story0 AF since Febrauary 1st, but not daignosed till may. Constant feeling of knives that is now just small cut feelings. But in the last two weeks- a Constant pain on the side of my tailbone- same side as fissure- sitting for more than 20 min in the car makes it HORRIBLE. any sitting makes it worse. Is this a spasm? After the CRS says the fisssure is 90% healed? Or could this be something else? He told me he thinks tightness of mscle, but why after all this time? Please help. Yes this fissure pain was worse than this when it started- but at least I could sit. This feels about 2-3 inches away (above) from the fissure. I am running out of ideas.

I should add- I've been on diltiazem for the last 6 weeks. This does not in any way affect this pain. Do others have spasms that are not in their actual anus?

My spasms seem to occur in time to my heart beat - its like a pulsing. However, it is localized in the spot where I have my AF.

Definitely not a dumb question. I always assumed the spasms were quick moments of intermittent, shooting pain. I get this from time to time when the AF is agitated or inflamed. They're like quick flashes of intensity and they usually go away fairly quickly for me.
However, this is only my interpretation of what I assume AF spasms are. I've mentioned this to my CRS but he never really confirmed that they are spasms or not.

As for the extra pain in the tailbone, if you haven't mentioned it to your Dr. you probably should. I can't say as to what it might be but I would be curious considering it feels like it's in a different place than the original fissure.
