The swelling is just starting to go down (last day or so) and the pain is lessened considerably. I am most sore in the morning and if I have no more BMs, I am usually feeling good by dinner time.
Yeah, I can't sit normally but at least I CAN sit now...I was in bed most of the first 2 weeks.
Maybe you could get some sort of bath padding (air cushion or something) or a pool floaty thing (like a kid sized rectangular cushion). Because the baths made a big difference in my pain!

I'm so glad the pain has decreased! That's great news. I imagine I'll be sitting on one cheek for a while too. I can sit, but not for long periods of time. I did used a bath pillow in the tub for under my butt. I think I'll get another one for my back. My back and butt are so bony now I need padding everywhere! I'm so happy that you are feeling better ... I am looking forward to the day when we can tell each other we are healed!

Hopetoheal, just to let you know, I added Dr McKenna to the RateMDs.com web site. Don't know if you have ever used that site but I have found it very useful when looking up info of Doctors. Not many at the Rudd Clinic seem to be listed although Rudd himself is. Like I said in my previous post, I am not out to slam McKenna because he obviously has a lot of experience and is probably very competent. He is however not as caring when it comes to pain of the procedure or exam. His bed side manner could use a little work IMO. I think it is important for those who may have dealings with him to know this going in. And who knows, maybe if enough people post their negative experience he may hear about it and try and improve on this. Anyway, just thought I would let you know in case you wanted to post your experience over there for others.

Hi RedCharger - thanks for telling me about your post on ratemd. I tried a few times to post on ratemydoctor, but I think the site was having trouble. I think your post was very fair. I am also not out to thrash McKenna, because I do believe he is quite comptetent, but I agree with you that patients should know what they are getting into!
How are things with you? Are you doing better?

HopeToHeal, I just finally got around to reading your experience. WOW!!! That's all I can say. You're now my #3 hero of all time. Slightly ahead of Britney Spears, but not quite caught up to Kobe Bryant and Tupac Shakur just yet :) In all seriousness, I'm amazed at what you went through. That took some major courage. Unbelievable that the doctor told you no pain meds were required. Unfortunately you're not the first who's been told that fairy tale. Glad to see you survived -- I think you're ready for whatever going forward now :)

Hi Hopetoheal-
I just wanted to let you know that although I haven't been on the board as much lately, I think of you almost daily and have included you in my prayers. Are you now almost 3 weeks out? I didn't read the entire thread but it looks like you are doing pretty well? You deserve miracle healing!

Wow NG - I'm so flattered to be almost in with Kobe Bryant and Tupac! kewl Image ... Britney I could crush with one anal sphincter! (hmmm ... try to ignore that image!)
I wish I could take credit for courage ... the truth is, I was desperate and didn't quite know what I was getting into! I am so grateful to the people on this forum for all the emotional support I got after the ordeal. I really don't know what I would have done without that.
Bambi - I'm two weeks and three days post-ordeal and I am healing. I'm going slowly compared to Elphie (the champion healer and inspiration!), but still quickly enough that I feel like good progress is being made. Thank you so much for checking in on me and for your prayers. They must be working because I do feel better as each day goes by (fainting spells notwithstanding!). You and Doug are in my thoughts and prayers everyday.

WHOA!!! Hopetoheal!!!!! I didn't read everyone else's post yet, just your original post BUT.....DANG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I only had skin tags removed but my experience was NOTHING like yours!!! My doc was so sweet and so compationate. He waited a good while for the numbing to take effect before do anything! And all the while he kept asking me if I was ok! In the end he told me I was strong. I wish you could have gone to him instead! Image
I hope that your recovery was a lot better and that you never have to see that dr again! If you have to go back you should definitely switch drs. What a jerk!!

OMG!!!
I've only just seen your post - what a terrible thing to happen. Poor, poor you. What an absolute idiot that surgeon is, you should definitely sue him. I hope you feel better very soon.
You are extremely brave! Image

Thanks so much for your sympathy and kindness Val and Bummer :)
I really wish I had had a surgeon like yours, Bummer. Bedside manner makes such a difference. I am feeling better. Everyday it feels like I'm making more progress, but I'm still taking it very easy and pampering my butt as much as possible. My mom is visiting me now to help take care of me (my poor hubby has been doing that for so long now, he needs a break). It sure is nice to have my mom around. She looks after me so nicely and always makes me laugh. :D
I hope you guys are doing well today and that your bums are being nice to you.
