LIS 8 days ago...what IS this?

Postby Pinklotus903 » 15 Feb 2018, 16:30

Hi Everyone...
I am new here. I just had LIS and Hemorrhoidectomy 8 days ago. I have been off pain meds for a few days now. No stool softeners (I have UC so I avoid meds when i can), and I think things are going OK..just taking forever it seems. And the bruising OMG!!! The bruises are one of the worst parts of healing. So..a couple days ago I had a bm and it stung and burned in one very specific spot. The pain was as bad as it was pre op with the fissure. So i felt around and there is like a hard thing kind of sticking out of the swollen part of my healing anus. I have taken NUMEROUS pictures, lol. They are yelliw whitish...and not skin...not under skin either. Are these stitches?? I do not know what to make of it, but they are annoying. This specific spot is the main source of discomfort after a bm and is still holding me hostage to the bathroom for a sitz and shower head spray after i go. Do these sound like stitches??

I had a hemorrhoidectomy in December (and LIS 3 years ago) and had yellow stiches. There was also one place that hurt more than the rest, and my husband said that there was a big yellow stitch there.

Sounds like this is the same thing. Was it stinging or prickly kind of pain? I wonder how long until it just falls out.

It was stinging pain.

I imagine that a lot would depend on your own body, and how tightly your surgeon sews. Mine lasted for at least 5 weeks. I think that the others must have fallen out/been absorbed before that, but I was just so very aware of the one that was causing me grief.

Hi PinkLotus,

I am so happy to see that you feeling better. However, I landed on this difficult road on 24th July after an evening of LIS and am meeting a new pothole everyday.

In the 1st week of your LIS, did you have sudden and uncontrollable cramps/urgencies of BM through out the day ? Just want to know if I am the only one with this situation. I have such sudden cramps that even before I can reach washroom and undress, I am almost done and soiled everything. I know it's gross, but m living this 4/5 times a day ! It's so sudden that I am unable to foresee these urges or cramps. Did you have these in the first week ????
