It’s certainly not hurting as much as the original fissure but when I go more than twice a day the spasms start and pain has on occasion gone up to about an 8
So I know how you feel Jim, for some of us LIS doesn’t offer as much relief as it does for others

I'm sorry to hear you are back in the fissure cycle MPB. Don't lose hope, you will be healed again. Hugs to you. :smilyhug:

Thanx P&H I hope a 2nd LIS or maybe even a Botox will sort it out as it’s not as bad as the original fissure.
How are you doing at the moment hope you are pain and fissure free x

I really hope Botox will fix it and you won't need another surgery.

I'm doing all right, I have good days and bad. Still in physical therapy and continuing dilation at home. Bad news is my PT is moving cities at the end of June, :( so I have to make some more significant progress by then. I'm worried about how I'll find a replacement, she's really good at what she does.

That’s too bad about your PT. I hope you manage to find a good replacement.

Oh no It’s awful when we find someone who is able to help and then they go and move away....hopefully you will be able to find another practitioner who is just as good

Thanks MPB & hedgehogbum. My options are quite limited after this because there aren't many pelvic floor PTs in the area who could help me. Plus there's the added factor of getting to know a practitioner and figuring out if they're the right fit. I will still have the tools I've been taught even after she moves away, so that's somewhat reassuring. Anyway, this thread is about MPB, I don't want to make it about me. :)

MPB are you sure its a new fissure and not scar tissue from the original Fissure ? Reason I ask is My pain management doctor told me that scar tissue can impinge on surrounding nerves which involve the pudendal nerve. Is your pain one sided? Burning stinging? Especially after a BM and when sitting but relieved when standing?. This is why they are going to do a nerve block and see

How are you both doing, MPB and Jim? Hope you both are feeling better since your last posts.

Hi Guys, I know I am barging in but I read many of guys have considerable experience with fissure pain management post LIS ... I had mine on 24th July and I really really need help. I am day 7. Past 6 days I had some issues with my tummy and I used to go for painful BMs 4/5 times a day. Lot of pan, burning and minimal drops of blood. That too only in the first BM So I went in for a follow up with my CRS. He gave me Flagyl to be taken twice a day. Now the BM reduced to 2 but there is a LOT of blood. Probably 2X or 3x of earlier amount. Have any of you experienced the bleeding after taking Flagyl (Metridonazole) ?????
