Miserable...

Postby Lsfb1989 » 20 Nov 2016, 15:13

Ive started on Rectogesic, been on it for a week. The pain when going to the toilet is much reduced, but the pain after is still awful. When I had a look, I now have 2 sentinel piles. I am beyond miserable. I thought I would be healing. I know I have a chronic fissure, but I had hoped some sort of healing. What makes things worse is there are no consultant appointments, on an 18 week waiting list :(

Is your fissure caused by constipation? If so, focus on healing the constipstion as well as the fissure. Fiber supplements made my constipation worse by bulking the stool and making it harder to pass. I'd suggest miralax to soften things up and make it easier for you to have a bm. Give it 3 days to have full effect though. This is just what helped me. Good luck!

Hey, the bleeding has stopped, I think its actually healing. Taking laxido and prune juice and lots of vegetables. My appt is 31st Jan at hospital. If it has started to heal, but is chronic, do you think they will still operate? Thanks x

I don't know. Luckily mine healed before I had to take the surgery step. I've heard the healing from surgery isn't too glamorous so I wanted to avoid that if at all possible. The pain from mine started to subside after a week and I'd say it was totally healed within 1 month. Every now and again if I deviate from my plant based diet I'll have a tiny one pop up again. Luckily I know what to do so it heals up quickly and doesn't become chronic. Lots of plants and miralax :)

I suffered for 5 years. It really is a drain on life, isn't it? I was so sick of my entire day revolving around using the bathroom. I'm hoping I can stay healed at this point! Good luck to you and your recovery. I completely understand your pain!
