Return to LIS - Considering surgery or already had it?

Lecia - I go once or twice a day. I mean, I just feel like it should not be this hard - especially after LIS. My doctor told me to get off everything. Even if I did eat alot of insoluable fiber, if I go once a day, I would think that should be enough for me to feel good. You know how it is - I am just fed up with it all.
I read a surgery post written by a memeber, AbbyR. It seams she kind of had the same issues post LIS that I am having, and I am assuming she healed because I never see her on here.
How are you feeling? When is your next appointment?

Yeah, I kind of remember that. You will heal. That is the important thing to remember. What are you doing for the pain? Do you ever coat your bum with some a&d ointment pre-bm? Can you add a little fish oil into your routine to help things slide out better?

I am still in pain but I think the diflucan is helping. I think my immune system is shot. If I didn't know better I would think I had HIV. I go back on Monday for EMGS to see why my legs is going numb. Is that when you see your doctor too?

I was going to reply that maybe the fibre sweets gave you problems because you didn't drink with them - i had problems with fibre supplements/softeners etc., because i didnt drink with them, but you say you drink loads, so I'm stumped!

After my LIS i felt looser for ages, but now I can feel very slight spasms again and it definately feels tighter, but not anywhere near as pre-LIS.

We all want to be here for you Jen, through good times and bad, and if everyone just posted when we felt good, there wouldn't be many posts!! And we wouldn't be a support forum, we'd just be a chat forum! Pleeeeaaase come back and tell us whats happening!!

Hi Jen
You are not a whiner Image
Sorry to hear your problems with the fibre lark Image Image Image
Maybe just the MOM and your good diet is enough at this stage while you are healing any extra stretching to that delicate area just isn’t worth it!
How is your little boy ? I hope he is feeling better Image

Thanks guys! My son is still ill. :( He has pink eye, sinusitis, and ear infections. He has bilateral tubes in his ears and today there is a green mucus substance draining from his ear. It is totally gross. I called his doctor but they have not called me back.
Yes Lecia -my appointment is Monday! Thank godness! :) I hope your appointment goes smoothly and you get some more good info. I can't wait to hear about it.
Val - Come to think of it, when I took the chocolate fiber, i did not have much fluid that particular day, and I did not drink anything directly with the fiber itself. Just maybe a few hours later.
Thanks for your support. I just wish this madness would end! The weird thing is, I have had zero problems with my chronic fissure, just all these new problems are happening.

Well, at least we know these issues are temporary and from the surgery and will heal. I think doctors are very realistic with patients about how long it takes to recover from rectal surgery. The CRS that did the hemorrhoid surgery said it took 2 weeks to recover. That is so bogus.

I am sorry your little boy is so sick. What terrible timing for all of you. I'll keep you guys in my prayers.

My BMs were pencil thin, usually, about a week or so after the surgery for a month or so. But each case is different.
Yes, I think you are thinking too much into it and besides, if you have a "extra" fissure it will heal now because you are set up for healing and you weren't before. You'll see!

Talk about talking "sh*t!" LOL!! Lets talk manure, shall we?
Yes, mine were like pencils for a while, then they turned back into logs. Nice smooth brown logs. Long ones, short ones. I seldom ever have the little ball-type poo anymore.
Before LIS, my poo was VERY inconsistent, from little balls to over-sized logs, to poo that started out formed and ended up mushy and all piled there above the water line.
Then there were the stools that were all chunky and deformed looking.
Very inconsistent, and I wonder if the stress from the pain and worry caused some of that, if not all of it.

Jen (good to hear from you Image )
Who could ever dream they would ask any of these kind of questions...? But we have to, our problem is "in that area"?
You are worried about your poo size Jen because it is so big, but isn't that a good size after LIS? You are not as tight, and therefore your poo can have more like normal size?
Sorry about your son Image
