Postby b-complex » 23 Jun 2018, 07:28

hi,

two days ago i decided to get the botox treatment , now have to return over 6weeks to see the results.
i cant really push pressure when i have bowel movenment coming.

so i bought Magnesium citrate Yesterday, took in 1 pill.
today i took 1 after breakfast.

just took a crap, and am not very convincing with the effects. my bowel is still on the hard side.

am i doing something wrong here, how long does it take for it to kick in?

bought magnesium citrate 400 mg .
i take 2 a day , one in the morning and one at night after dinner.
that is a total of 800mg .
i do take it with a piece of fruit bc i cant really swallow pills with water alone.

does anybody have suggestions for me , please let me know.
first time using it.

:thanx:

Hello

I use the softgels every now and then. But I only use 1 100mg softgel capsule at night and anything more than that i would be risking diarrhoea. It needs alot of water to work. I use the Now brand but alot of people use the powder since its easier to adjust the dosage. I think its good that you are using magnesium to keep your stool soft instead of a softener.

i quit using it yesterday , started with something else .
called INTESTINE CLEANER , it consists of FIBER & INULIN.
i just mix two little spoon with that fiber in a glass of water and drink it, one in the morning and one at night when i go to sleep.

it works great, only need to drink a lot of water.

magnesium didnt even gave a minor effect after using it almost a week. or maybe i used a cheap one .
different products can give different results.

What else are those pills composed of? The tablet form usually has a lot of E-numbers in. But you might just be sensitive to magnesium citrate, in which case you are right to change. I have just ordered the powdered form. 100% magnesium citrate so i’ll Let you know how I get on with it. I can’t take psyllium because even 1/4 teaspoon makes my BMs very bulky and painful, whereas the suggested dose is 8-16 times that amount! Each body is different and if yours is saying no to magnesium citrate, you are right to listen.

after searching some forums in my country, i heard people talking about magnesium pills you could buy at the pharmacy .

so i decided to call my local pharmacy to see if they have the pills .
and indeed they have them , so i bought them there.

Apparently taking 1000mg per day exceeds the upper intake level by 650mg. Plus there will be additional magesium from food. Is that wise?

see Source of information, and make a safe informed decission.
