Hi SSK, it sounds like depressing news, but at least they are taking your problem seriously and have a plan you can work with. By the sound of it, depression and anxiety have been plaguing you for a long time. If you tackle those conditions and the pelvic floor dissynergia and tension myalgia at the same time, maybe you will start to make real progress. Reading this forum for several months, I've come to realise that a lot of people here say their fissures began at a time of stress. Many people are anxious and depressed - not surprising when you consider they are in constant pain. From my own experiences, I know that I hold a lot of tension in my bottom. The trauma of the fissure combined with tension - well, it makes sense. It sounds as though you are in excellent hands.
Good luck and take care of yourself. Treat the whole you, and work on getting well in mind and body. Remember that moods and sadness can pass away, and so can pain. Focus on healing. You can always always come here for help and support.
Nifedipine/lidocaine, no help
Diltiazem, effective, but caused major rash
Nitroglycerine, effective.
Topical estrogen for final healing.
Gentle heat to bottom - pain relief, muscle relaxant
Kondremul mineral oil
Time - lots of time.
Status - Healed!
