one week post fistulectomy still discharge

hellow colleagues am still worried its about one week after i had fistulectomy on my backs, but i wonder its still discharge, to day i visit my doct he said i still doing good, and remove one of the seton placed,
please is it normal for it be discharging? how long will it take for discharge stop?

Hi Gango,
Just to put your mind at rest....
Yes, it's still normal stuff to be discharging one week after surgery and could last for a while depending on the state of your original fistula. Simple small superficial fistulae take less time because there is generally less discharge anyway whilst a more complex one could take a while longer. I've read posts where for some it takes a few weeks (I was very fortunate as my fistula was very small and the discharging finished after a couple of weeks) but others have taken months even but it's still normal. Just check in with your CRS to monitor your progress if you have any concerns. Good luck in your healing!
