Partially Healed Fissure

Postby supersadguy » 01 Oct 2019, 15:12

I have had a fissure now for a few months. I recently went to the CRS and she said that it looks like the fissure has partially healed. I have been using the nidifpine cream and have already had LIS. She mentioned getting it "scraped", to make new fresh tissue in hopes that it would heal correctly. The pain is not nearly as bad as it was during the first fissure I had, but it is just low grade pain and always there.

I really dont want to do the the surgery again. It is so painful and stressful. However I am tired of having discomfort all day.

I am wondering if anyone has had experience with this. Please tell me what worked for you? So frustrated.

Thank you...

Hi supersadguy,

that is a very tricky situation! I'm a male and had a chronic fissure for many years, I've had botox and two scrapings and both sets of surgery were painful. I've never had LIS as I was too scared but I had this vague pain for around 3 years following surgery but now, I'm feeling much better.

Your fissure has been there for a few months so has a much better chance to heal than those that have been there for a year or more. you could always try different toileting positions, increase fluid intake, continue with nifedipine, and see how you are in another 6 months? If I were you I'd not want to rush into something that could make it potentially worse.

Prehaps give your body a bit more time to heal?

Methods tried:
GTN cream - migraines!
Manuka Honey / Coconut oil / Aloe
tag excision X 2, botox x 3
Dilatiazem
dilatation 2 X daily + Retin-C Vitamin Scar Treatment Oil 2 X daily - best thing ever.
Now pain free 2/7/21

How are you doing? Any better? Or are you going for the ‘scrape’ this month?
