Hi Everyone,
I just tried Movicol for the first time. I put two teaspoons (half a sachet) into 125ml of water, and about an hour later had a bowel movement going from a number 4-5 ending with a mushy 6 (Bristol Chart). Now my butt is really burning and irritated from the fissure pain. It probably won't settle down for 4 hours or so.
Did anyone else experience mushy stool using Movicol, and did it gradually improve? I know people on the forum have been using it for months. But mushy stool is something that irritates my fissure as much as passing a hard stool. I also have Crohn's and have always been prone to constipation and not diarrhoea. And the specialist said the fissure doesn't seem to be Crohn's related. Well I haven't had a flare for 8 years or so. And he's the one who suggested that I use Movicol.
I'm also feeling nauseous from the artificial lemon and lime flavouring. Maybe my system is too sensitive for this stuff.. Not sure whether to throw it out or persist with it.
Cheers!
