I really dont know, sorry. Im just a bit baffled why you got bisacodyl in the first place.

Actually that must be because of my other surgery..bisacodyl is a stimulant laxative and prevents straining.
And although I have no pain during the BM's, I still get a slight pricking sensation where my fissure was previously, and also large stools.
Is this normal initially? I am worried the fissure has started acting up again as this pricking sensation was what I experienced every time it was active.
I am in my second week of recovery now( had sirgery 9 days aho)

Also, to add to the above post, I am having an increased tendancy to constrict/tighten/clench the anus..after peeing and during a BM..it's semi-voluntary and causes some pain in the rectum..I dont understand this reflex action as I searched everywhere on the internet and didn't find anything..is it because of the surgery?
Hope you have an answer

Fissure pain comes in all kind of variations, but one thing to remember is that fissures dont heal overnight. It can take months and months. If your stretch has stopped the spasms, your fissure has ideal conditions to heal, but it will still take some time. I also had some increased clenching during my healing, but I think it might have been becaused I stressed too much over my fissure, and constantly had my attention there. Its all gone now though.

Yeah, even I am damn tensed about the fissure and so it's a psychological thing to clench , I guess.
I hope my stools soften soon as my diet is full of both kinds of fibre, but still getting massive large stools :(:(:(!
I get worried like crazy while passing them, as even though they dont cause pain or bleeding, they feel like passing huge pickle gourds.

Hi Shantanu. Just a thought: you may be overdoing it with the fibre, hence the 'massive stools'. For a male, 38g a day of fibre is sufficient, female 25g. What you want is for your stool to be soft enough to pass easily, not to be bulked up. There is a lot of info on here about soluble and insoluble fibre, and it is worth doing a search and having a read. And here is a link where jr2 has this very evening written about fibre:http://anal-fissure.org/tips-on-how-to-keep-stool-diameters-smaller-t7878.html. All the best with your healing.

Had the raw end of the Bisacodyl deal last night.
Stomach cramps and diarrhea from 2 am till 8 am ;(
Also every BM was watery stools but caused a lot of burning in my anus, slight pain(2-3 on a scale if 10) and no bleeding.
Also am using Lignocaine jelly so when I apply it my rectal opening/anus feels sore when I touch.
Worried that the diarrhea has impaired fissure healing and it's been 2 weeks since the surgery..so are all my above symptoms normal at this stage or should I visit the surgeon?
Anticipating some helpful advice as you always provide! :)

Yikes that sucks. Hope you are better today.
The most important things regarding fissure healing is to get blood flowing to the fissure, and avoid retears.
The stretch should have improved the bloodflow, and I assume you are not having spasms anymore?
In that case, the goal is to keep your stools soft and avoid straining while having a BM.
Diarrhea does not improve healing, and can cause irritation and pain, even in a normal butt.

Hi
I visited my surgeon today..he insists that I continue my Bisacodyl fpr the next 10 days or so along with Cremaffin(Liquid paraffin+Milk of magnesia).
However, he didn't examine the fissure area but I will insist upon it the next week when I visit him.
Thank you!
