I used retrogestic (nitro) and stopped it on the 8 week mark. The doctor never said to stop it at that time but the leaflet with it stated to discard after 8 weeks so that's it's life once opened I think. Think it has helped but not in the clear yet. If you are considering using it for longer I would ask the doctor first, just in case, unless they have already stated to use it for longer. I think you're at greater chance of side effects if using for longer, such as skin irritation.
I believe some here have used it for longer than 8 weeks (nitro)
Have you had any other tests done? Crohns disease can cause reoccuring fissures even after LIS.
