Hi
I had a fissurectomy and two hemmies removed nine weeks ago. My BMs I keep soft and are both pain free and without blood. However, I still have discomfort when sitting and generally walking around. I may get a couple of good days and think I have turned a corner then suddenly the next day I seem to take a backward step. I don't need pain killers but it is annoying that I don't feel normal.
For the past three weeks been using coconut oil and that did seem to help. The last 6 days seem to have taken big backward step and sore most of the day thinking it had torn again. So bad I went to see my surgeon today. He had a good feel around both outside and inside and I have to say there was minimal pain. He says everything is good and healed. The pain is associated with scar tissue and could go on for some time. The pain varies from day to day as affected by the consistency of my bowel movements.
He has given me some vitamin E cream to help the scar tissue and I will continue with the coconut oil.
Does anyone here identify with my symptoms? Am I expecting too much too soon as it is only two months post surgery?

I can not tell you very much since I had my LIS only 2 days ago( doing very god and feeling great). But according to my CRS it can take from 6 months to a year to feel fully normal again and I had only one procedure done. The most important thing he told me is that you feel you are improving every day, slowly or little by little you have to feel you are going forward as time pass. Now, you had several procedures done at once and they were not minimal! And for What I can read in your post you seems to be progressing even if some days you had some set backs. So I will say to give it more time and be patient. As long as things are progressing I think you don't have anything to worry about.

Hi thanks for your reply. Since posting I have spent a couple of hours reading many posts on the site and I seem to be expecting too much too soon. I made great progress the first three weeks but very little in the past 6. I have to say my BM's are normal. I have continual discomfort sitting and walking. It is bearable and I have no intention of letting anyone with a knife near my bottom in the near future.
I live in Cyprus and had to let a general surgeon do the op. He is an older man who came highly recommended. My histology report on what was removed said the larger hemmie 1.5cmx1.3cm contained a fissure and a second smaller one was removed. I do not have a tight sphincter my hemmie came from excessive diarrhea due to my gluton intolerance.
My story does seem to be different from the average on the site. At 2 months post op I will have to be patient and continue with my regime of showers, oils, creams and keeping BM's soft but not diarrhea.
I wonder if anyone can offer any advice or comments on my situation

Hi LIS Cyprus, I am only Day 7 after LIS surgery and had two skin tags removed. You are right--the LIS does not hurt but those darn tag sites that were removed are what is causing me the pain and soreness. I do hope it goes away. My doc says 6 weeks???? I hope so because I have to return to work next week and I have to sit down at a desk all day. I take two advil daily for the pain but I want to ween myself off eventually. Good luck! Pray we both get over this dilemma soon!!!

You are still very early days at day 7. I am 9 weeks post surgery still sore.....although I can sit for prolonged spells I am permanently conscious of my bum! Today has been a good day but did not have a BM which is unusual for me. Will take stool softener tonight and coconut oil to lubricate next one!.....on average seems to be months rather than weeks to be pain free.....depressing I know....
