Hemorrhoids then fissure and now what?

Postby pedro » 06 May 2014, 14:19

Hello, I'm a male 24 years old, I use to have hemorrhoids like once or twice an year but it has been around 1,5 year without crisis until I started to few a small throbbing pain in the right side of my anus which eventually became an external hemorrhoid, after 20 days of complications I don't have that hemorrhoids anymore but I got an anal fissure on the left side that bleeds and hurts for aroundo 30 min after going to toilet (maybe it would hurt more but it's been over a week that I'm taking arcoxia, a powerful antiinflammatory).

On the right side I have a small, pea-sized lump almost in the external part of the anus, which doesn't hurts at all, however on the anterior part, between the anus and coccyx I can feel a lump inside, big one, and it hurts a lot when I stand or even sick, so I've been bedridden for the past weeks, what could that lump be?

Hi Pedro, that sounds really uncomfortable and miserable. I think you should go and see a doctor, preferably a colorectal surgeon. Any pain that keeps you in bed for a week should be investigated and treated.
I wish I could tell you what the lump is, but I have no idea. Hopefully a doctor can tell you what it is.
Nifedipine/lidocaine, no help
Diltiazem, effective, but caused major rash
Nitroglycerine, effective.
Topical estrogen for final healing.
Gentle heat to bottom - pain relief, muscle relaxant
Kondremul mineral oil
Time - lots of time.
Status - Healed!

First of all, I'm not in my home country right now, when this started I was in India now I'm in Bangkok, so I'm having some trouble finding reliable medical aid, today I went to my fourth hospital

I went to another doctor he said it was an abcess, got it drained but after draining he said it was a fistula, I got confused since from what I researched fistulas are a consequence from drained abcesses. He said there's a 50% chance it will come back in two weeks and then I would need another surgery. He said there is nothing we can do to prevent it.

I do feel better after the procedure but my fissure on the left side still hurts from time to time.

I wonder how long it will take to recover

Yes, he prescribed two antibiotics.

Thanks for replying, sorry if I seemed unpolite, been through a lot of pain lately.

Do you know if draining the abcess will help my fissure heal faster?

I would think it would have to help, but I don't know. Sorry!
I didn't think you were unpolite. I know what it's like to be in pain.

I hope you heal very soon. I know that when I had my fissure I thought it would never end, but it did and I'm fine now. Hang in there and do what it takes. Don't give up! One day this will just be a memory - live for that time.

I feel much better now, I don't even use analgesics anymore, but I still feel a little pain after walking for a few minutes, sitting is fine with those donut cushions.

Thanks for your kind words :)
