As the title says really, I have good days now and again but I am still in pain during bm :( Has anyone else taken this long to heal after LIS?

Sarah,

I am sorry to hear that you are still having issues after LIS. It took me six weeks to have my first day with no issues as I would have at least one of the following during the first 6 weeks: some pain at the BM, after discomfort, stingers, bleeding and the fullness feeling in my bottom. I am now about 13 weeks out and after a firm stool, I will still get some discomfort but not the AF pain. I have stayed on the my diet plan, stool softener, lots of water and hot baths after BM when possible. I also had issues with stool urgency until the last couple of weeks as that is now better. I am 64 years old and it has not been easy for me to heal. Sometimes, I feel like my anal opening has shrank a little with all my issues tags and hems.

Have you been back to your CRS recently to check on your progress? If your fissures have not healed, there may be some thing that can be done with silver nitrate. You can still beat the AF at 7 weeks, but you need to continue with the diet, stool softener and lots of water.

I wish you the best

Im right there with you. had mine done at the beginning of June. My issue is that I can't keep my stool soft enough to allow it to heal. I take miralax but as soon as I try and wean off of it, I retear. Its so discouraging :( Good luck.
