I think it's wise to go back and see your crs if you are already having to give a little push to get bms started. It sounds like things may be starting to tighten up again.
I'm sorry to hear your road to recovery is getting longer.... But I'm sure you'll get to the end really soon

Hi OMB,

Thanks for the positive words. I have been following your posts with the flap surgery and it just scares the heck out of me if LIS does not work and my next step would be flap. I know that I could not do another LIS as I would not have control of my stools. I could live with the current discomfort if it does not get worse.

Roids - I'm having the same troubles. Scratching on the way out, more irritation, burning. I can feel that I opened a new fissure around 12 o' clock... I think it's a different location than my original one? Ugh. Will be interested to see what your CRS says. I'm still on a full dose of miralax + 3 colace each day. I will do LIS again if I have to.
Developed fissure from constipation due to breastfeeding 7 weeks after delivery (Jan 2014)

Roids I'm so sorry! Same issues here 2nd-retear-after-lis-t8770.html. I know what you mean about fearing flap surgery.

Praying you get answers at your appointment. Hang in there!

Is there something in the water or what!!..... I think we all need a break here!!

Good luck with your appointment roids,

Jbl and sot.... I'm sorry your having so much trouble healing after LIS.

Please don't be afraid of the flap surgery.... It's not as painful as you think it's going to be.... And don't be put off by my misfortune....I really am not your run of the mill classic fissure sufferer.

I went to my CRS and she did a finger exam. The fissure and incision site is healed, but the incision area is a little red. She also checked the sphincter muscle and it appeared normal. She wanted to do a scope of the area, but I was afraid of getting a tear as I am so tinder in the area, so we agreed wait 6 weeks and see what happens. If I continue to have problems or it gets worse, then, she will exam with a scope.

I do not get any burning, but I get some discomfort after a firm BM that can last a couple of hours. The fissure area is still very tinder during the BM. I will continue to take stool softener, high fiber diet and hot baths after a BM when possible.

STOT and JBL, I hope that you are doing better, and Rachel you must be getting close to your LIS date.

Hi MM,

I continue to have issues with hard stools. The starting tip of the stool will get hard and cause the discomfort. The only thing I have found to prevent the hard stool is two BM's a day that are spaced out, but I can not always get two BMs, so I am exposed to the hard tip when I have one BM a day.

I am very thankful that I do not have the fissure pain, but I am always on edge that I may re-tear because of a hard stool.

Thanks for asking.
