Itch!!!!

Postby T8Y1OR » 20 Oct 2014, 11:54

I have been clear for about a month and i am starting to not use anusol anymore but i am getting the itch I'm hoping this is not the start of something else, i have had a mild curry, some chocolate in the past 4 days which i don't normally have this is the first time in 4 months (oh it was so good)

has anyone else had the itch and is it a sign I'm healing (not had blood since first week in september)

Cheers

Hi T8Y1OR,
Are you using anything on your bum? eg medicated wipes, soap, coconut oil?
The itch could be caused by chemical sensitivity - you could try changing brands and see if the itch goes away.
Is there a rash? Does the itch go beyond the anus? If so, see a doctor.

It's really great that you are healing. They say an itch is part of healing, and it would be great if that's the case for you!
Nifedipine/lidocaine, no help
Diltiazem, effective, but caused major rash
Nitroglycerine, effective.
Topical estrogen for final healing.
Gentle heat to bottom - pain relief, muscle relaxant
Kondremul mineral oil
Time - lots of time.
Status - Healed!

You might want to go in and make sure it's not Pruritis Ani. I was just dx'd with it, as I had the most intense itching --especially at night.
In the meanwhile, if you're using wipes, you might want to stop and start using a rinse bottle with warm water after your BM's. Some of the wipes can exacerbate the itch. Dry yourself carefully, and use a hairdryer. You can use zinc oxide (found in Desitin). But do get checked out!
