Rectogesic cream - success?

Postby PainedSA » 05 Nov 2014, 06:04

Just wondering if anyone has any hints; tips or opinions on rectogesic?
Has anyone used it while breastfeeding?
Has anyone cured/healed their fissure using rectogesic ointment?
Please tell me your stories.
When did you apply it and how often and for how long?

Rectogesic is nitroglyerine, trinitroglycerine, glyceryl trinitrate and other names.

You can search for it on this forum using these names and also the name rectogesic.
It helped me a lot. It was the most effective of the drugs I tried.
It can give you headaches. I avoided the headaches by starting with very tiny amounts (like a lentil) and gradually working up to a pea-sized blob over several days. I get a little fullness in the head and throat for a few minutes, and sometimes a couple of throbs of the head, but it's soon over.

I apply it twice a day, morning and night. I like to apply it after a BM. You don't have to put it up inside because it's very well absorbed through the skin.
Hope this helps!
Nifedipine/lidocaine, no help
Diltiazem, effective, but caused major rash
Nitroglycerine, effective.
Topical estrogen for final healing.
Gentle heat to bottom - pain relief, muscle relaxant
Kondremul mineral oil
Time - lots of time.
Status - Healed!
